The Fall 2026 Housing Supply Report highlights that most major Canadian cities are still facing a supply gap, with Calgary and Edmonton standing out as rare exceptions. Here in Calgary, we\u2019re in a unique position: while construction elsewhere is slowing faster than demand, putting upward pressure on affordability, our local market remains resilient. Most of the new supply coming online is in rental housing, which is great for tenants, but with weaker condo construction, ownership opportunities are lagging behind. To maintain our momentum, increased housing starts and continued investment in infrastructure are essential.
